Clean, safe, and welcoming places

Metro Denver Local Development Corporation

At MDLDC, we believe great neighborhoods don’t happen by accident, they’re built through consistent care, shared stewardship, and a deep commitment to the people who use them every day. For almost five decades, we’ve honed a service model designed specifically for the unique needs of Denver’s public spaces. Our approach prioritizes relationships, quality, accountability, and long-term community benefit.

Core components of our model

MDLDC Model Breakdown

  • MDLDC operates directly within our service boundaries, with centrally located district headquarters that allow our staff to deploy quickly and stay visible and accessible throughout the day.

    • Dedicated district-based teams

    • Rapid response times

    • Strong relationships with property owners, residents, businesses, and city partners

    • On-the-ground awareness of daily needs and emerging issues

  • Our Ambassadors are community caretakers, not enforcers.
They serve as the welcoming presence of each district, offering assistance, support, and hospitality to everyone who moves through the area.

    Ambassadors provide:

    • Public safety presence without enforcement

    • District information, directions, and wayfinding support

    • Visitor engagement and hospitality services

    • Connection to services for vulnerable individuals

    • Real-time eyes-and-ears reporting

Our team members are trained in de-escalation, customer service, trauma-informed care, and neighborhood history, ensuring that everyone feels respected and supported.

  • MDLDC delivers consistent, proactive maintenance that keeps public spaces at their best:

    • Sidewalk sweeping and litter removal

    • Power washing and spot cleaning

    • Graffiti abatement and reporting

    • Landscaping, horticulture, and urban greening care

    • Street furniture and amenity upkeep

    • Snow and ice management

    • Daily inspections and digital reporting

We combine boots-on-the-ground consistency with modern equipment and technology to ensure reliability and transparency.

  • Our nonprofit model allows us to maintain deep management engagement without unnecessary overhead.

    We provide:

    • On-site supervisors with strong field experience

    • Clear performance metrics

    • Detailed daily reporting

    • Thorough training programs

    • Direct communication channels with district leadership

    • Consistent quality control and inspections

This structure keeps teams supported and ensures districts receive the highest level of service.

  • MDLDC acts as a bridge between the community and city agencies, service providers, property owners, and residents. We coordinate with:

    • Denver Public Works

    • RTD

    • Denver Police & Denver Park Rangers

    • Housing and human services partners

    • Neighborhood organizations

    • Business and arts communities

  • Every neighborhood is different. Our model adapts to the scale and character of each district while maintaining consistent quality.

    We support:

    • General Improvement Districts

    • Local Maintenance Districts

    • Business Improvement Districts

    • Special projects and pilot programs

    • Event support and activation
